USA Shipping Info
3. September
Theres a lot currently happening in the US when it comes to shipping/importing goods. This is what I know:
Original art should remain duty-free under the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
The de minimis exemption (which allowed all imports under 800$ to be duty-free) ended August 29. While this doesnt directly affect art shipments since they are duty-free, there are still millions of packages that now require customs processing, and a system for handling this is not yet up and running.
Because of this, the postal service currently halted standard shipments to the US. However, express shipments are still possible. These cost more (70-90€), but I will cover the extra costs during this release and only charge a flat fee of 35€ to the US. Hopefully this gets solved for future releases.
Apparently the US is currently charging 80$ per package processing fee (expected to be lowered to 20$ in 2026).
I have gotten different information from different sources, some say Express shipments are exempt from processing fees, some say they arent.
Obviously this is all somewhat chaotic and inconvenient for everyone. I want everyone to be happy when ordering a TABBY and not surprised by any new fees. All the information Ive mentioned is what Ive gathered from different sources and I can not guarantee that it is 100% correct since nobody currently knows for sure.
One option would be to halt US orders for now. This would be unfortunate, not only since about 30% of orders usually go to the US and that would obviously mean a financial hit, but mainly because shipping out new pieces is my way to directly connect with all of you and share a piece of myself.
My offer: It looks like there shouldnt be any duty/tariff due. However, an absurd 80$ processing fee is possible. If theres something you need to pay, get in contact with me and I will refund you 50% of it.
Thanks to everyone and all your support, hopefully this will be a much simpler process in the future!
